Barricane Beach Cafe
The first on our list is a must if you are in the north of Devon and the weather is on your side.

WHY WE LOVE IT
Imagine eating a Sri Lankan curry on the beach while watching the sunset. This is possible here at Barricane beach cafe. Bring your own picnic blanket or chair to sit on the beach, bring your drink of choice and grab a curry from the cafe and sit and enjoy this amazingly unique experience. We can not recommend this place enough…this is a must-visit if possible on your visit to Devon.
Things to know, they only open in good weather and can sell out quickly, so make sure to head down for an early dinner!

why we love it
Asian street food with a great taste. Great selection of Bao bun, super salad bowls and Malaysian-inspired vegan curry. Vegan fillings include Japanese teriyaki tofu or Szechuan spicy tofu. One of our favourite vegan restaurants in Devon.

WHY WE LOVE IT
Great friendly atmosphere with a menu inspired by Cyprus. They have delicious jackfruit gyros served with garlic parsley fries and amazing ‘vegan’ Scotch egg. They also have a fully vegan bar. We would recommend this to everyone, vegan or not.

WHY WE LOVE IT
This restaurant serves food of such amazing quality! They received the travellers choice award in 2020 for how many high reviews they got. There food is so good you cant go wrong with whatever you choose from there menu.

The Terrace Tapas & Wine Bar
We went here for a family lunch and were pleasantly surprised at how accommodating they were for vegan options, the food was of incredible quality and was one of the tastiest meals we ate in Devon.

- Berenjenas Gratinadas – (Aubergine cooked with tomatoes, garlic and white wine)
- Patatas Bravas – (Potatoes in spicy smoked paprika tomato sauce)
WHY WE LOVE IT
This Tapas bar is located right in the harbour itself and serves great portions of tapas. The bar itself is beautifully decorated with seating inside and out. The bar staff/owner are very knowledgeable of their food and cooking process and made us feel more than comfortable with the vegan dishes and options we could have. Being a wine bar they have a great selection of wine, beers and spirits and is a great place to come have a drink with friends and family while eating great tapas.

BLUE GROOVE
LOCATION: Croyde
CATEGORY: Serves vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes.
WHAT TO ORDER
- Gado Gado – (A spicy Indonesian salad with crunchy vegetables, and fried tofu)

- Homemade Soya Bean Falafels
- Onion Rings
- Sweet Potato Chips
WHY WE LOVE IT
This laid-back restaurant for us is best to visit here for a shared lunch with friends and family, grabbing a few plates from the light bites, although they do vegan mains we prefer to mix and matching the light bites together and sharing around to get a taste of the vegan options.

WHY WE LOVE IT
100% fully Vegan and full of all the American style junk food we all crave. There are many items here which we all would have only tasted before turning vegan and the taste is so good. Reading the menu we have to double-check the menu was vegan with so many ‘meat’ options we haven’t had in such a long time. Samphire is a fantastic place to get your junk-food fix. They also serve a wide range of vegan cakes and desserts. You will be spoilt for choice here with so many sweet and savoury options. This restaurant is the best vegan restaurant in Devon and is worth a trip, or two?

WHY WE LOVE IT
Herbie’s is a lovely restaurant that is fully vegetarian and vegan. Has a lovely dine-in experience. This restaurant feels more like a formal restaurant than a fast-food establishment. All their food has a great home-cooked taste and we could not fault this place for a more traditional dining experience.

GOBBLEBOX
LOCATION: Woolacombe

WHY WE LOVE IT
A short walk from Woolacombe beach Gooblebox is famous for its seafood burgers but they also offer a great tasting Katsu Aubergine Burger in a golden toasted vegan brioche bun. This is a perfect pick up while wandering the streets of Woolacombe.

WHY WE LOVE IT
Pho Nam has a 100% Vegan menu with an array of dishes, from curries to Pho and even Tofu stuffed crispy pancakes. This has the traditional Vietnamese street cuisine flavour and feel to the restaurant bright and simple it is a pleasure to eat here.
